A day at the beach

Today we went to the beach: a place with lots of sand en even more water that somewhat frightened me. There were also lots of other dogs I met at the beach. We’ve walked for about an hour together with Frans, Petra, Maarten en Kyra and played with tennis balls and other toys. Afterwards we went for a bowl of water and some pancakes.

Playing with Bo again and chewing a huge bone

Today I went playing again with Bo. It was great fun again and I was so exhausted that I did not have any energy left to go for a walk with the rest of the pack. They dragged me out of the house a couple of times though, since they think I need to go for a walk every two hours.

The pack leader brought me a huge bone once home from the shopping mall that I very much enjoyed, thanks! He also brought lamb rack for dinner so I could chew some very tasty bones.

Eventful evening

Today I went to the snackbar at the corner of the street to get some food for the rest of the pack. On my way I met some new friends I hadn’t seen before. In the snackbar everbody wanted to hug and stroke me and of course I didn’t object!

Puppy training

Yesterday I went to puppy training with the boss, so he could learn more about dogs. I wasn’t too interested in the course material, though I liked meeting my classmates and playing with them. After my class I met another shepherd dog I really liked and because of our shared interests (sheep) we had a lot to discuss.

On the way to the class and back I helped my boss driving his cars. I ensure every journey is a surprise by getting the windows down at random moments. After getting back from the training I was very tired and the rest of the day mainly consisted of catching up on a few quality hours of sleep.

Today the boss went for a training course in Nieuwegein (boring!), but he ensured I was in good hands: his colleague Ramon worked at our office all day and took me out for a few walks. In my opinion Ramon watches too much TV at home, he tried various Cesar Millan tricks on me during the day. The rest of the week Ramon will take care of me during the day and on Friday Laura will stay at home with me.

Sean the shreddog

As you might have noticed I like to chew on everything I see and I know for sure I can use this talent in a useful way by shredding all confidential papers here around the office. Today I started training for my new job using a paper bag and it was great fun.

The furry animal is becoming a partner in crime, he got an open can of food from the kitchen worktop so we could eat it together this afternoon.

We went for some longer walks today. One to the supermarket and another one to the Health Club where I met Raoul, Corinne and Hanny. It was really great to meet you! On one of our walks we also did a short run and I think I like running. I should train to run greater distances than just a street when I am older. The tennis balls are great to play with too. But all these activities do call for a short nap from time to time when I am tired.

Driving the pack leader crazy

Today I was very boisterous: I kept on biting and chewing on toes, hands en jeans of the pack leader despite him saying ‘no’ or ‘ouch’ or giving me one of my toys to bite on. Another fine trick is getting all the empty envelopes out of the trash bin and destroying them all over the floor.

But it was not all mischief today: we went for a couple of walks and I tried my best not the pee or poo inside the house. They almost didn’t notice me peeing in the living room, but the pack leader has a good nose and sharp sight so he noticed a while later. Sometimes I react very quick to “Sean, come”  too, but sometimes I really don’t care and just sniff at more interesting things.

I am working on a good relation with the furry animal too. It is going better by the day, but sometimes he still starts to hiss at me and I get a punch of its paw on my nose.

A visit to the vet and running around a tree

Today we went to the vet for the first time. She told us I was a healthy dog and she could tell that I would grow up to be a big dog judging on the size of my paws. Of course I explored the whole animal clinic and greeted everybody there including a grey furry animal of about the same type we have at home. The vet gave use some nice tasting tablets against worms and another bling bling necklace that protects me against flees and ticks for a few months. I look forward to visiting the vet again next week for another round of vaccinations. I also need one against rabies so I can maybe travel to the UK later this year. To the vet and back we used the other car with a roof that folded itself and got stored in the trunk so we could enjoy the nice weather.

In the afternoon we went to visit some people at the other side of the street and played a great game in the garden: I was on the long leash and followed my boss around a tree. Because my boss did not want to get the leash around the tree he ran after me, but of course I ran faster after him again. It took my boss a couple of rounds to see that he should shorten the leash to prevent us from being tied around a tree the rest of the afternoon.

I surprised my new pack today by just following them up the stairs a couple of times, but they will not allow me the walk down until I am an adolescent. Potty training went better than yesterday, until now we only had one small accident!
